A Child's Garden of Verses was first published in Lodon by Longman's, Green in 1885.
The first American edition appeared that same year, from Charles Scribner's Sons, New York.
The first edition with illustrations by Amy Millicent Sowerby (1878-1967) was London: Chatto & Windus, 1908; The St. Martin's Illustrated Library of Standard Authors, with 12 full-page mounted color plates, and 53 black and white head-pieces.
