Chorion (LSE: COR.L - news) reported its interim figures for the first half on Thursday. Pre-tax profit rose from 2.77 million stg to 3.63 million stg, on sales up 62 percent to 20.8 million stg, in line with expectations. The company, which owns the rights to Noddy, has bought a controlling interest in the estate of George Simenon, the writer of the Inspector Maigret series of books, the second most widely read crime series after Agatha Christie. The company has produced a new series of Noddy, which it hopes to sell to China, where it has also licensed a theme park.
