This is the record that turned my older brother (and so my whole family) on to the Rounders. It has "Euphoria", "Junko Partner", and "Black Eyed Suzy" on it by Holy Modal Rounders. It also has others, like...Dave Van Ronk, Eric Von Schmidt, Lightnin Hopkins, etc...
That LP is sooooo good. It has "Talkin' Cancer Blues" on it... Marijuanas, here to stay........so if you'd like a treat, but don't mind the treatment, smoke pot..... its the thinking mans cigarette!
I'm sure that everything is available elsewhere, but having them all together, in the mid to late 60s when I was between 9 & 13 was mind expanding. I know that I was trying to play "Euphoria" at about 10 or so. I think my brothers were listening to WMMS in Cleveland, and that station turned us on to, well, everybody.
Yes, my whole family, (well not Mom and Dad) were greatly influenced by the Holy Modal Rounders (and Blue Cheer, buts thats another web site!). We all tuned in and dropped out to varying degrees. With me being the finest true example in the bunch! Of course now I have a 20 year old son who plays guitar and is what you might call a thinking man already.....I'm sure he will be raising the stakes a little. He is also a big Holy Modal Rounder fan too, regularly playing "Chevrolet Six" and "Bully Of The Town" with me.
